The Arboretum is presenting “Lunar New Year Celebrating the Year of the Horse!” on Bauer Lawn, turning a sweep of greenery at 301 N. Baldwin Ave. in Arcadia into a multigenerational gathering place for Vietnamese and Chinese diaspora communities in Southern California.
A “Red Envelope Seed Giveaway, while supplies last!” fuses the symbolism of traditional lucky envelopes with the Arboretum’s horticultural mission.
A “Cabbage Planting Station: Get your hands dirty and learn the art of planting cabbage. This hands-on activity is perfect for gardeners of all ages” invites visitors to experience planting firsthand.
Children and caregivers can also make “Year of the Horse Family Crafts” to take home.
The program’s visuals and performances are central to the draw.
A “Complementary Photo-Op: Capture the moment with a free photo at our themed photo booth. Take home a memorable keepsake from your fun day” ensures every guest can leave with a memento.
A “Lion Dance and Kung Fu Demonstration by Fong’s Kung Fu” offers a morning performance and a second showing, promising “this captivating demonstration” where visitors can “feel the rhythm and energy as the performers bring the lion to life.”
