The Pasadena Public Library’s Lamanda Park Branch will host a celebration of its memoir writing class on Saturday, January 17, from 2 to 4 p.m., inviting the public to hear participants read from their personal narratives and creative work.

Members of the class will share excerpts from their memoirs and, in some cases, from fiction they have written. The program is based on the principle that all writing is a form of memoir—that even invented stories draw from lived experience and personal truth.

The memoir writing class at Lamanda Park Branch has become an established offering in the Pasadena Public Library’s adult education programming, attracting both beginning and experienced writers seeking to document their life stories.

The program is free and open to the public. Lamanda Park Branch Library is located at 140 South Altadena Drive in Pasadena.

Those requiring accessibility accommodations should contact the library in advance. The Pasadena Public Library requests at least 72 hours notice to ensure availability of needed services, including sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices and other auxiliary aids. The branch is handicap accessible through its main entrance, and the meeting room is fully accessible.

For more information or to arrange accommodations, contact Lamanda Park Branch Library at (626) 744-7266. The library is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
