Michelle Maryk brings her speculative suspense debut, “The Found Object Society,” to Pasadena for an in-person conversation and signing with actor, writer, producer and director Amy Landecker at Vroman’s Bookstore.
The event, officially billed as “Michelle Maryk, in conversation with Amy Landecker, discusses & signs ‘The Found Object Society,'” puts a Hollywood-backed spotlight on a novel that blends suspense, fantasy and paranormal fiction.
The book, published February 10, 2026, follows a secret society whose wealthy members relive the deaths of strangers for an “unparalleled, irreplicable high,” a premise Maryk has described as an “opulent, subterranean playground” of objects and last moments.
The conversation is framed to dig into themes of death, memory and storytelling, positioning the evening as both a literary event and a pop-culture-inflected exploration of why “death is addictive” on the page and beyond.
Set at Pasadena’s beloved independent bookstore, the program highlights Vroman’s role as a gathering place for readers, writers and performers, with Maryk, Landecker and the store itself all pitched as draws for literature fans, pop-culture followers and supporters of local bookstores.
Michelle Maryk, in conversation with Amy Landecker, discusses & signs “The Found Object Society” will run on Monday, February 23 at 7 p.m. Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena.
