More than 400 vendors set up in the Pasadena City College parking lots on the first Sunday of every month, and Sunday is that Sunday. The market opens at 8 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. across Parking Lots 1 and 3 and parking structure 4, on the west side of campus at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. Bring cash.
The market is known primarily for antiques and collectibles, with products ranging from high-end antiques to rummage-sale items. More than 50 record vendors set up on the top ramp of Lot 4’s parking structure, offering items that range from classic and big bands to present-day performers.
Admission is always free. Customer parking is $2 in Lot 5, off Bonnie Avenue.
The proceeds from every Pasadena City College Flea Market benefit student scholarships and activities. The market distributes more than $32,000 in scholarships annually to students who have demonstrated leadership or volunteerism, and student organizations chartered at PCC can reserve discounted vending spaces for $20 to raise funds for their own activities.
Tom Selinski, co-founder of the market, has said its purpose “has always been to support student scholarships and student activities.”
The market has operated on the first Sunday of every month, except January, since the late 1970s. It is now formally operated by the PCC Foundation, which took over ownership from the Pasadena Area Community College District under a 2021 transfer agreement. A board of directors made up of community members, a vendor representative, students, staff and administrators governs it.
Arrive early if the records are the draw.
PCC Flea Market will run on Sunday, September 6 at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pasadena City College, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 585-7906 or visit https://pasadena.edu/
