“This class is not a typical physical asana/postures based yoga practice. It is accessible to all regardless of prior yoga experience or not, or shape, size, age, race, sexual identity/preference, or physical ability level — everything can be easily modified, and we will help you do so as needed,” states the event description.
The workshop will be available both in-person at 690 E. Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104, and online for remote participants.
Attendees should come prepared to sit, stand, and lay down for breathwork, gentle movement, self-generated sound vibration (mantra), mudra therapy (hand postures), guided meditation, sound healing, and rest.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable layers to accommodate body temperature changes. They may bring their own yoga mat, cushion, blanket, and refillable water bottle, though folding chairs will be provided at the venue. Free Manduka mats will also be available for participants.
In a special initiative for those affected by the Eaton Fire, Giving Naam has received a donation of 30 Manduka yoga mats to distribute to attendees who lost their mats in the fire. Those interested in receiving a mat must register for the in-person event, after which they will find a link to a Manduka Mat Request Form on the Curriculum Page. The donated mats will be given out at the beginning of the live event on March 30.
Registration is required for this community healing event.
