Boston Court Pasadena on Friday will be featuring “A View from the Bridge,” by Arthur Miller, on “National Theatre Live” (“NT Live”) which brings the best of British theater to cinema screens worldwide.

Filmed live on stage from London’s West End, Arthur Miller’s dark and passionate play returns exclusively to cinema screens. Ivo Van Hove directs this “magnetic, electrifying, astonishingly bold” production — according to London’s Evening Standard  — starring Mark Strong and Nicola Walker.

“A View From the Bridge” tells the story of  Brooklyn longshoreman Eddie Carbone as he welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. One of his cousins falls for his beautiful niece, and they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret  —  one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.

“NT Live” presents UK films using state-of-the-art filming techniques tailored to every play. The show brings you each performance “as it happens, in all its glory, from close-ups that capture every flicker of emotion, to sweeping wide shots of the stage,” said a Boston Court Pasadena announcement.

“Whether you come along to the live broadcast, or catch one of many replays, you’ll have the best seats in the house. And you’ll be part of something much bigger. There’ll be thousands of others all around the world watching along with you. Sharing every gasp, every laugh, every dramatic moment,” Boston Court said on its website.

“NT Live” at Boston Court is an in-person screening. Everyone is reminded to purchase tickets in advance, and that no walk-up sales will be provided. The parking lot and lobby will be open one hour before the screening begins. It is recommended that patrons consider arriving early and grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants nearby.

Inside the theater, all screenings will be socially distanced with only 50-percent capacity. Masks are still required for all staff and audience members. Patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination and a photo ID, and to undergo a symptom and temperature check.
