Need Bread? PureBread Performs in Tribute at Coffee Gallery Backstage on Friday

Published on Jun 30, 2022

PureBread, Southern California’s first tribute to Bread, the Soft Rock supergroup of the 70’s, will be performing Friday at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena. The music begins at 8 p.m.

Bread rose to popularity in 1970 with their first No. 1 hit single, “Make It With You,” which was followed up with no less than 12 Top 40 singles, making the group one of the most prolific commercial bands of our time.

Driven by his deep love and admiration for the music of Bread, and in particular David Gates, band leader Ray Koukal decided to put together in early 2021 a band of stellar musicians to help him pay tribute to this group.

Since then, PureBread has been working very hard to present this music to you in a very heartfelt and respectful way.

When you hear PureBread’s rendering of songs like “It Don’t Matter to Me,” “Diary,” “Everything I Own,” “Lost Without Your Love,” “Baby I’m-a Wan’t You,” “Guitar Man,” “Sweet Surrender,” “If,” “Aubrey,” and “Make it With You,” you will be reminded of just how impactful Bread was in the emergence of soft rock, and of the mark they made on pop music.

Mark your calendars and make your plans to join the Coffee Gallery Backstage to celebrate this great music and sing along to all of the timeless classics, now staples of the genre that has come to be called Yacht Rock.

Tickets to Friday’s concert are $20.
