Pasadena Humane is launching a new non-competitive fitness program on Tuesday, Jan. 7, called “Paws & Play Agility” at its facility located at 361 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.

The three-week mini course combines gentle stretching with confidence-boosting agility equipment to enhance canine physical fitness and build self-assurance.

The program, priced at $75 for the full session, requires participating dogs to be at least one year old and free from current physical injuries.

Training sessions will run on consecutive Tuesdays through Jan. 21, with each class lasting 45 minutes in the evening starting at 7 p.m.

Participating dogs must demonstrate comfort around other canines at a distance of approximately 8 feet, according to the program requirements established by Pasadena Humane.

The course is designed to be repeatable, says Pasadena Humane, with difficulty levels adjusting as each dog’s skill progresses through the training program.

All participating dogs must be current on their age-appropriate vaccinations and be accompanied by one adult pet parent throughout the training sessions.
