CBS will begin airing new episodes of its scripted series following its broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 as part of a strike-delayed premiere week.
As announced in May when CBS unveiled its programming plans for the 2023-24 season, “Tracker” will premiere following the network’s coverage of Super Bowl LVIII.
The drama stars “This Is Us” alum Justin Hartley as “a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a `reward seeker,’ using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family,” according to CBS.
“Tracker” is based on the novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver, who is one of its executive producers, along with Hartley and Ken Olin, best known for his portrayal of Michael Steadman on the 1987-91 ABC drama “Thirtysomething,” before beginning a career as a producer and director. He was an executive producer of “This Is Us” and directed 32 episodes of the NBC family drama.
The comedies “The Neighborhood,” “Bob Hearts Abishola” and the action dramas “NCIS” and “NCIS: `NCIS: Hawai’i” will have their season premieres Feb. 12, CBS announced Monday. The season premieres of the crime dramas “FBI,” “FBI: International” and “FBI: Most Wanted” will air Feb. 13.
“Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” will continue their current seasons Feb. 14. The 46th season of “Survivor” will begin Feb. 28 and the 36th season of “The Amazing Race” will begin on March 13.
The season premieres of the comedies “Young Sheldon” and “Ghosts” will air Feb. 15, followed by the season premiere of the legal comedy/drama “So Help Me Todd” and a rerun of the “Tracker” premiere.
CBS’ Friday dramas “S.W.A.T.,” “Fire Country” and “Blue Bloods” will have their season premieres Feb. 16. The season premieres of “The Equalizer” and “CSI: Vegas” will air Feb. 18.
CBS’ other new scripted series for the abbreviated 2023-24 season, “Elsbeth,” will premiere Feb. 29. The crime drama stars Carrie Preston as the character she originally played on “The Good Wife,” transplanted to New York City where she assists the New York Police Department in cornering brilliant criminals. The cast also includes “The Wire” alum Wendell Pierce as an NYPD captain.
The strikes by the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild- American Federation of Television and Radio Artists prompted CBS to delay its remake of “Matlock” starring Kathy Bates and the comedy “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans to the 2024-25 season, CBS announced Monday.
