While thousands prepare to descend on Pasadena for the Rose Parade, NOOR’s signature New Year’s Eve celebration is gearing up to welcome both locals and tourists with an immersive 80s-themed experience. The venue, marking its 15th year of operations, has established this event as one of only two ticketed celebrations they produce annually, alongside their Rose Parade celebration.
“With an exciting 80’s retro theme, our NYE Parties attract a crowd of both locals and those visiting Pasadena for the Rose Bowl that are between ages of 35 and 60, which makes sense since those people grew up in the eighties,” says Robert Shahnazarian, head of sales and marketing for NOOR. “And I think we can all agree that the 80’s produced the best decade of music.”
The event, scheduled for December 31 from 8 PM to 1 AM at NOOR in the grand Sofia Ballroom, features DJ spinning 80s hits, continuing a tradition that has previously included performances by celebrity DJs like Richard Blade from SiriusXM and local favorites, Past Action Heroes. The celebration will showcase a 4K video wall with 80’s videos, confetti cannons, and a spectacular LED dance floor installation.
“We have two pricing tiers for our tickets, Gold & Platinum. The Platinum tickets are always the first to sell-out because the price difference is just $50, and Platinum tickets include prime table seating with a gourmet charcuterie board, bottle of Veuve Cliquot French Champagne, and classic NYE party favors.” Shahnazarian emphasized their commitment to accessibility, noting they maintain the lower-priced Gold ticket option to keep the event open to cost-conscious buyers who want to attend an amazing NYE party.”

The Gold package, priced at $175 for early birds (til 12/13/24), includes a premium open bar, gourmet butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, California House Champagne toast at midnight, multimedia visuals, glamour photo booth with props & prints, NYE party favors, and reserved communal seating at tables accommodating 10-12 guests. The Platinum package, at $225, adds premium table seating, a gourmet cheese & charcuterie board, table-side hors d’oeuvre service, bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne, and an 80s-themed party favor bag for each guest.
According to Shahnazarian, attendance is typically split evenly between locals and out-of-town visitors.
“To generate a buzz and excitement, we launch ticket sales Thanksgiving weekend and are offer early bird pricing until December 13th,” he explains. “It’s kind of a thank you to the locals who have supported us for the past 15 years, who are always the first to secure their tickets, because on the 13th the prices go, which is when the folks visiting from out of town scoop up the rest.”
For the venue’s experienced team, which orchestrates over 250 events annually, the New Year’s celebration represents their operational expertise at its zenith.
“After people check in, it’s like they’ve entered a glamorous all-inclusive resort. All of the food, drinks, desserts and entertainment are already included, and they don’t have to pull any money out of their pocket,” Shahnazarian notes. ” There’s hors d’oeuvres all night and dessert and hot beverage station, champagne toast, photo booth.”
For the busy holiday period, NOOR offers access to over 3,000 parking spaces in the PASEO’s Marengo parking structure, which connects to the venue via a pedestrian bridge. NOOR provides complimentary 90-minute validation, with a total cost of $12.00.
“There’s plenty of parking at the PASEO on New Year’s Eve,” Shahnazarian assures. “We hosted this event for 15 years and parking has never been an issue.”
