Panda Express, a division of Pasadena-founded Panda Restaurant and the largest Chinese restaurant chain in the United States, is reportedly testing a new dish called Spicy Wagyu Beef Dumplings at its Innovation Kitchen in East Pasadena. The dumplings are made with 100% Wagyu beef, kale, onions, and a spicy sauce.

For the first time ever, Panda Express is using 100-percent Wagyu beef in its menu. This premium beef is renowned for its tender texture and rich flavor, making it the perfect choice for this new dish.

This dish features five 100 percent Wagyu beef dumplings that are expertly wok-tossed with fresh kale and onions in a sweet and spicy sauce that has an extra kick. Inspired by Zhoug dumplings, a classic Chinese street food, the sauce is exclusive to the Innovation Kitchen in East Pasadena.

The culinary creation is a result of a collaboration with Fly By Jing, a cult-favorite brand known for its spicy chili crisp

But don’t wait too long to sample this culinary masterpiece. The new menu item is being offered exclusively at the Innovation Kitchen from April 21 to June 1, 2023. And if the test run proves successful, Panda Express may consider rolling out this delicious dish to more locations.

Panda Express is not the only Chinese restaurant chain that is testing new dishes. In recent years, there has been a trend of Chinese restaurants experimenting with new flavors and ingredients. This is due in part to the growing popularity of Chinese food in the United States.

The Panda Express Innovation Kitchen is located at 3867 East Foothill Blvd. in East Pasadena.
