A free parenting workshop titled “Parenting Skills Using Heart-Based Coaching–Listening” will be held at the Hastings Branch Library in Pasadena on Saturday, Oct. 12. The 60-minute session, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., aims to help parents develop techniques for listening to their children “from their head, heart, and gut.”
“There is no bible for parenting,” said an announcement from Hastings Branch Library. “One strategy might work for one child, and the same strategy might not work for another one.”
Organizers hope to equip parents with tools to tailor their approaches to each child’s unique needs.
Aimed specifically at adults, adults 50+, and emerging adults (18 to 24), the event is part of the Pasadena Public Library’s efforts to support local families. Registration is required and can be completed through an online sign-up form: https://eventactions.com/
The Hastings Branch Library, located at 3325 East Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena, is committed to accessibility. The library said this workshop represents an effort to provide parenting education that emphasizes individualized approaches and listening skills. By focusing on these aspects, organizers hope to strengthen parent-child communication and understanding.
Through the Pasadena Public Library and its branches, the city is offering educational programming alongside traditional book-lending services. This parenting workshop is one example of how public institutions are providing resources to meet community needs.
