Parks After Dark Programs Return to Pasadena July 11

The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCS) invites you to the 13th annual Parks After Dark (PAD) program series. PAD takes advantage of Pasadena’s beautiful summer evenings by activating park spaces to provide youth and their families opportunities to experience healthy, safe recreation programming. Activities run on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from July 11 – August 10 and include sports leagues and tournaments, recreation activities, movies, swimming, and more. 

Parks After Dark Activities

For all ages to enjoy and participate in, unless otherwise specified. Registration is not required unless noted in the activity description. 

Parks After Dark Kickoff Festival | Thursday, July 11, 5-9 p.m., All Ages
Robinson Park Baseball Diamond, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.

Join us for the Parks After Dark kickoff on Thursday, July 11, 6-9 p.m., at Robinson Park featuring FREE food, inflatable games, arts and crafts, a live DJ and more! Join us for an exciting evening of softball action! Watch as community members go head-to-head against the Pasadena Police, followed by games from the City of Pasadena EAB Softball Tournament. Support your local teams and enjoy a fun-filled day at the ballpark!

Movies in the Park | Fridays, July 12 – Aug. 9, 7 p.m., All Ages

Our popular Movies in the Park series is back! Come early to find a great viewing spot and participate in pre-movie activities, including arts & crafts and games. Movies begin at dusk.

Glow Sports | Thursdays, July 18, and Aug. 1, 8-9:30 p.m., All Ages

Join us as we light up the night with fun interactive carnival-style games. Invite family, friends and neighbors to this friendly, nontraditional setting that will delight everyone.

5 vs. 5 Adult Basketball | Thursdays, July 18 – Aug. 8, 5-9 p.m., Ages 18+
Robinson Park Recreation Center Gym, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.

Pasadena is well-known for having skilled basketball players! Register your team to compete and demonstrate your game. All levels are welcome. Teams are guaranteed one 20-minute game per week for four weeks in Robinson Park’s gym.

5 vs. 5 High School Basketball | Saturdays, July 20 – Aug. 10, 6-9 p.m., Ages 14-18

7 vs. 7 Adult Soccer | Thursdays, July 18 – Aug. 22, 5:30-9 p.m., Ages 18+

7 vs. 7 soccer games are fast-paced, high-scoring, and big fun! Two games will be played simultaneously. All teams are guaranteed one game per week for five weeks. 

Boxing Clinic | Friday, July 26, 5-7:30 p.m., Ages 8+
July 16 at Victory Park, 2575 Paloma St.

Geared towards non-experienced participants who are interested in learning the fundamentals of Olympic-style boxing. Workout will consist of stretches, foot work, punching and self-controlled movement. This would be a non-contact workout full of fun, fitness and wellness.

Aqua Boogie Nights | Saturdays, July 13 – Aug.10, 6-9 p.m., All Ages
Honorable John J. Kennedy Pool, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.

Villa Parke Pool, 363 E. Villa St.
Get ready to boogie Saturday nights!  Join us for swimming, music, and dancing. Proper swim attire is required; Participants are encouraged to come dressed and ready to swim. Lifeguards on duty. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Visit CityOfPasadena.net/Reserve for locations.

Teen Glow Party | Thursday, July 25, 6-9 p.m., Ages 12-17
La Pintoresca Teen Education Center, 1415 N. Raymond Ave.

Calling all Teens! Have fun with us at a glow dance party with glow sticks and high-energy dance music. Make new friends and enjoy a fun night at our teen center.

Aztec Dance Yankuititl | Saturday, July 27, 4-9 p.m., All Ages
Villa Parke Gymnasium, 363 E. Villa St.

Open for all ages, Aztec Dance is an opportunity to learn traditional Aztec dance steps, movement, and drum rhythms. Lessons start with basic movements and then progress to choreographed dance steps. This activity is accompanied by live Aztec drumming.
