Streets in Pasadena will transform into an open-air gallery this weekend for the 16th Annual Pasadena ARTWalk. The two-day event, scheduled for Sept. 21-22, will showcase the work of more than 180 hand-selected artisans.
Organized by Jackalope Arts in partnership with the Playhouse Village, the free event will take place on Green Street between Los Robles and El Molino Avenue. For navigation purposes, attendees can use the address 561 E Green St., Pasadena, as a midpoint.
Visitors can expect a diverse array of art forms, including visual art, photography, fashion, jewelry design, and home decor. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, rain or shine, and will feature live music performances.
In addition to the art displays, the ARTWalk will offer a range of family-friendly activities. Children can participate in chess lessons taught through storytelling by Chess at Three, create dried flower bouquets at the Yosemite Flower Farm booth, or design bookmarks inspired by local crosswalk art.
Other activities include face painting, glitter tattoos, nail art, unicorn braids, and caricature drawing. “Trash to Treasures Creations” will allow children to make sculptures from discarded items. The Monarca Collective will offer cultural arts activities reflecting Latino Heritage Month, such as paper flower making.
The event organizers recommend using public transportation or ride-sharing services, as parking in the area may be limited. However, 1-hour free street parking is available. The ARTWalk is handicap accessible and welcomes leashed pets, emphasizing its inclusivity for all community members.
