Pasadena Education Network to Host Virtual Program on How PUSD Works

Pasadena Education Network (PEN) will host a free virtual program titled “How Does PUSD Work?” on Wednesday, March 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.

The program, presented as part of Pasadena Unified School District’s Parent University, aims to provide a basic foundation for understanding how the school system works – including how PUSD schools are funded, what decisions are made at the District vs the school site level, and how parents can have a say.

The program is open to anyone who wants to know more about how things work in PUSD or plans to get more involved. Participants can register at:

Founded in 2006 by a group of parents who wanted to improve public education in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD), PEN is a nonprofit organization that connects and empowers more than 2,000 families who send their children to PUSD schools.

PEN’s mission is to promote family participation in public education to benefit all students in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre. PEN offers parent education programs and services that help parents explore and evaluate their public school options, as well as support their children’s academic and social development.
