The tour features three architectural masterpieces. The Robert R. Blacker House, completed in 1907, cost in excess of $100,000 and exemplifies Greene and Greene’s mastery of the American Craftsman style, with every detail custom designed. The Cordelia A. Culbertson House, built from 1911 to 1913, represents the Greene brothers’ largest commission at over $150,000. The James Allen Freeman House at 1330 Hillcrest Avenue, designed by Arthur and Alfred Heineman and completed in 1913, exemplifies the English Craftsman tradition with its gently arcing gables and half-timber walls.
Pasadena Heritage, founded in 1977, is the second largest preservation group in California with over 2,000 members. The tour operates rain or shine. Dogs are not permitted on Pasadena Heritage walking tours.
