Pasadena Heritage will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the historic Blinn House, with newly appointed interim Executive Director Zoot Velasco presiding.
The meeting, running from 5 to 7 p.m. with official proceedings beginning at 6 p.m., will include Board elections and recognition of retiring Board members. It will also feature a review of 2024 achievements and preview plans for the upcoming year.
Members may attend free of charge, while a $10 donation is suggested for non-members at the event, which requires advance reservations by Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Velasco, who will oversee the proceedings, joined the organization last December as interim Executive Director following the departure of Erin Simon.
A veteran nonprofit executive and social impact consultant, Velasco brings experience in steering cultural institutions and restoring historic sites. He holds an MBA from Hope International University and a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of California, and maintains teaching positions at three colleges.
During his tenure at the Muckenthaler Mansion and Cultural Center in Fullerton from 2007 to 2016, he led the institution to achieve 400% growth amid the Great Recession.
Velasco is a Certified Fund Raising Executive credentialed by CFRE.org, and has raised more than $42 million throughout his career for various institutions.
