The centerpiece campaign, “Roses and Wet Noses,” will waive adoption fees for all dogs weighing over 40 pounds from Dec. 19 through Dec. 31, inviting potential adopters to “’float’ on over to Pasadena Humane and meet their new ‘bud.’”
This promotion coincides with the organization’s participation in the 136th Rose Parade, where their float, “Welcome Home,” sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, celebrates the joy of pet companionship and highlights adoption’s life-saving power.
Black cat enthusiasts can participate in a special three-day promotion from Dec. 13 through 15, with adoption fees reduced to $13 for black or predominantly black cats aged six months or older.
The organization is adding an incentive for cat adopters, offering one randomly selected participant the chance to win a year’s supply of World’s Best Cat Litter through a golden ticket promotion.
Senior citizens aged 60 and above can adopt pets five years or older at no cost through the Seniors for Seniors program, supported by the Pets for the Elderly Foundation, recognizing that these middle-aged pets often face overlooked adoption prospects.
Military service members, both active and retired, qualify for complimentary adoptions and vaccines through the Pets for Vets program, requiring valid military identification and personal completion of adoption paperwork, with some restrictions applying.
All adoptions include comprehensive veterinary services including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.
