Pasadena Humane is inviting kids to return for in-person programming following a pandemic-induced hiatus, the organization announced this week.

Pasadena Humane offers multiple programs for different age groups, ranging from six-week after school programs to spending an afternoon reading a book to a companion animal, according to the shelter.

“Students will experience topics that include animal welfare, shelter work, crafts or games geared towards animals as well as supervised animal interaction,” Pasadena Humane said in a written statement. Spaces are limited, and early registration was urged.

Activities range in price from free to $200 for a six-week after school program.

Other programs include a one-day seminar introducing kids to animal care, a hands-on class about the wildlife native to the Arroyo Seco and a chance for kids to “create, read or just chill out with our volunteer companion animal teams and their pets,” the statement said.

More information about kids’ programs at Pasadena Humane are available on the organization’s website at pasadenahumane.org/get-involved/kids/onsite-programs.
