Pasadena Library Hosts Sewing Class for Halloween Treat Bags

Published on Oct 24, 2020

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking of easy DIY decorations for around your house to make it a little more spooky.

Pasadena Public Library has one solution for this; all sewers are invited to participate in “Sew It Begins,” a free online class on Tuesday, October 27,  that shows participants how to make four different mini treat bags, perfect for Halloween candy.

In this virtual class, you can follow along with your sewing machine and make your own Halloween mini treat bags. The supplies listed will make up to four mini bags, perfect for gifting Halloween candies or baked goods. Beginner’s sewing machine knowledge is required.

The class is for teens and adults ages 13 and up.

For supplies, you’ll need 1/4 yard of novelty print Halloween fabric, 1/4 yard of a different novelty print Halloween fabric in a contrasting color (two fat quarters in contrasting colors will work well), and Grosgrain ribbon in various colors that can be picked up from the library.

Registration is required for this free class. To register, visit www.cityofpasadena.net/library/calendar and scroll down to the October 27 section, and click on 3 p.m. for “Sew It Begins.”
