Pasadena Neighborhood’s Annual Chili Contest Returns To South Euclid Avenue

Published on Nov 9, 2024

The Madison Heights Neighborhood Association will host its Annual Chili Cookoff, a fun, family-friendly, outdoor chili cooking competition, on Saturday, November 9. The event runs from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on South Euclid Avenue, north of Glenarm Street in Pasadena’s Madison Heights neighborhood.

At least 15 local contestants are expected to compete for the title of 2024 Chili Champ in this public event, which is free to attend. Contestants pay a $20 entry fee, which contributes to the winner’s cash prize.

The gathering follows a potluck format. While competitors focus on their chili entries, other attendees are encouraged to bring side dishes, desserts, or drinks to share.

The Madison Heights Neighborhood Association will provide plates, cutlery, and utensils for all participants.

Families attending the event will find activities for children, including a bouncy house. Attendees can sample the competing chili entries by purchasing tasting tickets, available for an optional donation.

Those interested in entering the competition have two registration options: they can contact Madison Heights Neighborhood Association Board member Andrew Smith at (615) 293-8870 or email him at atandrewsmith608@gmail.com.
