Remainders Creative Reuse, described as a Pasadena-based nonprofit arts education center, will host a Beginner Sewing 2 class on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 787 E. Washington Blvd., Suite 101, Pasadena, according to the organization.

The class is open to participants ages 14 and older who have completed Beginner Sewing 1 or already know how to use a sewing machine. Instructor Anna Valles, who the organization says has sewn since second grade and specializes in machine garment sewing with a focus on vintage-inspired designs, will guide students through an expanded set of skills and techniques.

The curriculum covers stitch variations, length and width, zig-zag capabilities, gathering stitch, and darning stitch. Students may also learn top-stitching, double-fold hem, tucks, and stitch-in-the-ditch, applying skills to a simple project as time allows. All sewing machines, fabrics, tools, and materials are included in the $30 registration fee.

The class is held upstairs in the Creative Space; participants should use the exterior stairs to enter. Late arrivals will not be admitted.

Additional sessions are scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m.

A 20% cancellation fee applies, according to the organization. Refunds require written notice to toban@remainders.org, with the registrant’s name and order number, at least 48 hours before class. No refunds are issued within 48 hours of class.

Beginner Sewing 2 will run on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Remainders Creative Reuse, 787 E. Washington Blvd., Suite 101, Pasadena.
