For one hour, beginning at 3:30 p.m., the Allendale Branch will transform into a creative studio where participants can “mix it up” and create something entirely their own. Those who arrive empty-handed need not worry. The library will provide all supplies, removing any barrier that might prevent someone from participating in the artistic process.
“Mix it up! Collage, paint, draw, and experiment with different materials and mediums to create a one-of-a-kind artwork. Bring your own art projects to work on or start something new! All supplies provided,” according to the official event description.
The program welcomes all ages, though it holds particular appeal for younger participants, especially teens and young adults between 12 and 17 years old. There are no registration fees, no sign-up requirements, and no prerequisites for artistic ability.
The Pasadena Public Library sponsors the event with support from Friends of the Pasadena Public Library, the nonprofit fundraising organization that sustains the library’s programming. Library Director Tim McDonald oversees the city’s overall library programming, with the Allendale Branch facilitators managing the workshop.
The workshop reflects the city’s commitment to free community arts access and operates under the City of Pasadena’s Code of Conduct and accessibility policies, ensuring ADA compliance for all participants.
Mixed Media Art will run on Thursday, December 4 at 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Allendale Branch, 1130 South Marengo Avenue, Pasadena, Calif. For more information, call (626) 744-7260 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D191192829.
