The Pasadena-Foothills REALTORS in Action (PFARIA) recently hosted a successful Sunset Social Mixer & Fundraiser at Behind Bars, a new venue in Old Town Pasadena’s Mills Alley. The event attracted a large crowd of realtors, industry leaders, and representatives from local charities, who came together to socialize, network, and support the community.
According to Kay Tolentino, PFAR Immediate-Past President, local broker/owner, and Co-Chair of PFARIA, attendees had the opportunity to win exciting auction prizes, including an Apple Watch, Burke Williams massage packages, and tickets to the sold-out Rams vs. Packers game.
“The real highlight of the evening was the incredible people and industry heavyweights who attended,” Tolentino reported.
Guests included Dave Knight of Keller Williams and Councilmember Felicia Williams, as well as representatives from local charities such as Five Acres, Habitat for Humanity, and Sycamores. These guests demonstrated their commitment to the community and shared their visions for giving back.
PFARIA, the charitable foundation associated with the Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS (PFAR), focuses on community outreach and philanthropy within the Pasadena-Foothills area. The organization supports human service-based nonprofits that work to prevent and address community issues, particularly those affecting underprivileged populations.
Through various charitable activities, such as organizing drives for hygiene kits, backpacks, food, and clothing, PFARIA has significantly impacted the community since its inception. These items are distributed to local organizations like Union Station Homeless Services, Friends in Deed, and Five Acres.
The Sunset Social not only provided an evening of enjoyment and relaxation but also reinforced the connections within the community, making it a memorable event for all involved. PFARIA is already planning their next event.
Tolentino also praised the food and drinks at the event, noting that there was enough for many to take home.
“There was definitely no complaining as the honey garlic chicken from Mills Alley Izakaya was incredible!” she added.
With so many people in the community that have been assisted since its founding, PFARIA aims to expand its efforts further through events and collaborations, providing ongoing support to those in need and fulfilling its mission of giving back to the community it serves.
