Kicking off on Aug. 13, the concert series will feature JazzZone, a group promising to deliver “sizzlin’ hot cool jazz,” their signature style, to set the tone for the summer program. The following week, on Aug. 20, The Tokens will take the stage with their rock and roll repertoire.
For those with a penchant for Latin rhythms, the Susie Hansen Latin Band will perform on Aug. 27, focusing on Latin jazz and salsa with an emphasis on dance music. The series will conclude on Monday, Sept. 2 with The Great American Swing Band, transporting audiences to the Big Band Era.
All concerts will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pasadena Senior Center, located at 85 E. Holly Street in Pasadena. The center’s website notes that the events will be held on their tree-shaded patio, with the final concert moving inside to the Scott Pavilion.
In an effort to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, the Pasadena Senior Center will provide chairs for attendees; they also encourage picnics and dancing – a family-friendly and interactive event for all ages.
While registration is suggested, it is not mandatory for attendance. To secure your spots, visit https://www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org/activities-events/special-events/1008-summer-concert-series-main and click the “Register Online” button.
