Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exhibition, chaired by Larry D. Rodgers, PSA Vice President for Exhibitions, will feature a wide array of media, including acrylic, photography, ceramics, welded metal, pen & ink, watercolor, fabric collage, assemblage, etchings, and more.
Rodgers, in the organization’s August newsletter, said an Artists’ Reception is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, 2 to 4 p.m.
“Contrary to the rumors, Whites Fine Art Gallery is air conditioned. Plus, there will be plenty of refreshments and snacks available during the reception,” Larry Rodgers wrote. “Please stop by and support your fellow PSA members and admire their latest masterpieces.”
Many pieces are new works not previously seen by the public. All artwork in the exhibition will be available for purchase, the PSA said.
Founded in 1925, the Pasadena Society of Artists is an organization of professional artists from Pasadena and surrounding areas that has been showcasing members’ artwork for over 90 years. The society hosts several exhibitions annually, including the prestigious Annual Juried Exhibition, themed shows, and a Distinguished Members exhibition.
PSA offers a rich schedule of events for its members, including monthly meetings, art demonstrations, peer support sessions, studio tours, and community outreach programs. With a history of notable members whose works are still highly valued, PSA continues to foster artistic growth and contribute to the contemporary art scene.
The organization also maintains strong community ties, participates in local art events, and partners with other groups to promote the arts in Pasadena and beyond.
Visitors can view the “Artists Choice” exhibition in person at Whites Fine Art Gallery or online through ISSUU.com and the Pasadena Society of Artists website, www.PasadenaSocietyofArtists.org. A printed catalog will also be available for purchase.
The Artist’s Choice series, which began in 2009, allows members to select their own works for display, offering a unique perspective on current artistic trends within the group.
Participating artists include Vibiana Aparicio-Chamberlin, Michele Benzamin-Miki, and Richard G. Murphy, among others.
The Pasadena Society of Artists continues its mission to present the works of talented and creative artists to the community of Pasadena and surrounding areas.
