In Other People’s Shoes Productions, a Pasadena theater company, will celebrate five years with a Fundraising Fiesta on Oct. 11, featuring a preview of its upcoming audio series, according to the company’s website.

Money raised will support the company’s projects, including more performances of the Fire Stories Project, its theater piece responding to the Eaton Fire, and June Carryl’s “(In)Visible Me,” the company said on its website.

The fiesta will feature mariachi music, tacos, beer and a silent auction, according to the company’s website.

Guests will hear a preview of “The Wondrous Adventures of Pia Sandia” by José Cruz González, a 12-part audio series the company describes as an immersive audio experience. It is directed by Robert Castro, produced by company founder Mireya Hepner, with sound design by John Zalewski, according to the company’s website.

The Fire Stories Project is built from interviews with young people ages 8 to 18 from Altadena and Pasadena about their experiences of the Eaton Fire, using their exact words and performed by three professional actors, according to Local News Pasadena. The company said on its website it had presented the piece six times this year as of Sept. 16, and that updates on additional performances are forthcoming. Tickets to the January and February performances were free, Local News Pasadena reported. The project is made possible in part by the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission, the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division and Eastside Arts Initiative, according to the company.

In Other People’s Shoes tells stories for young people and families, according to the company. Hepner founded the company after MainStreet Theatre Company in Rancho Cucamonga shut down during the pandemic, Local News Pasadena reported. Tickets are $75 for adults and $25 for young people under 18, and sponsorships range from $200 to $5,000, according to the company’s website.

Sunday, Oct. 11. Venue and time to be confirmed. Tickets: $75 adults, $25 young people under 18. For more, visit https://inotherpeoplesshoes.org/fundraising-fiesta.
