The Pasadena Unified School District’s annual Innovation Exposition will take place Friday, December 5, at Blair High School in Pasadena, spotlighting student creativity, problem-solving, and STEM skills through hands-on projects and displays.
The exposition serves as the district’s alternative to the traditional science fair, offering students a platform to explore and showcase their talents across six categories: 3D Printing, Environmental Innovation, Invention, Reverse Engineering, Science Fiction Writing, and Scientific Inquiry.
Judging for competitive entries—open to students in grades four through eight—will begin at 9 a.m. Students in the competitive category will be bused from their respective schools to Blair High School for judging. Bus schedules will be distributed to school sites prior to the event.
All participants must prepare a descriptive display for the day of the exposition. While tri-fold boards are common, students may use any format that clearly communicates the goal, process, and conclusions of their project. Each display must prominently feature the student’s name, school, and project title on the front.
Project setup and drop-off for both competitive and non-competitive entries will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The exposition will open to the public for viewing from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on December 5, followed by an awards ceremony from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
