Pasadena Village Offers Free Online Presentations

Older Adults are invited to join an array of Zoom classes

Pasadena Village offers an array of free programming on Zoom targeted to older adults in the area. “We encourage older adults to view our calendar of events and give us a call to register,” says Pasadena Village Executive Director Katie Brandon, “These presentations cover various topics that Pasadena Village members are interested in. We want the whole community to know they are welcome to join us, engage in the various subjects, and bring their questions.”

The free Zoom sessions include a Q&A about taxes, information about medical cannabis use, an overview of the resources available through the Senior Care Network, how to make small adjustments to your home to make it safe to age in place, and an exploration of how courtrooms are portrayed in movies. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Pasadena Village office at (626) 765-6037. Those who do not have access to Zoom can call in to hear the presentations. Learn the science behind what makes CBD and medical marijuana so popular among people dealing with chronic pain, anxiety and sleep issues and more. Pasadena Village’s Educational Programs Committee invites you to join us in this presentation that will dispel some myths and study the latest research surrounding this ancient plant. A key to aging in place successfully is making your home both accessible and safe. Taking the time to make these adjustments to your home now may prevent a fall, and will make navigating your space easier for you to live independently. Pasadena Village’s VIPs and Educational Programs Committee invite you to join Karen Maes, an Occupational Therapist from the Braille Institute, who will offer simple tips to help ensure safety at home both inside and out. Courtroom movies reflect and influence popular beliefs about law, lawyers and the legal system. Paul Bergman, Professor of Law Emeritus at the UCLA School of Law, will show entertaining clips from courtroom movies and help sort fact from fiction.
