Pasadena’s ninth annual Walktober officially starts Oct. 1 and runs throughout the month.
According to a City of Pasadena news release, the city’s Department of Transportation is partnering with Day One and the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition on the program, and the city is sponsoring all Walktober events this year. More than 20 walking and community activities are listed on the program’s Eventbrite page as of Sept. 29.
The first component is Week Without Driving, running from Oct. 1 through Oct. 8 citywide.
According to the event’s Eventbrite listing, the initiative asks participants what would change in their lives if driving were not an option and is intended in part to highlight transportation access issues affecting nondrivers.
Eventbrite lists Week Without Driving as beginning at 6 a.m. Oct. 1, with Day One, Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition and Pasadena Department of Transportation as organizers.
