The Haunted Pasadena Walking Tour markets itself as the “original and only locally-run” option, distinguished by “ongoing research and fact-checked stories.”

Starting at 6:30 p.m. outside The Stand, 36 S. El Molino Avenue, the 1.5-mile tour covers approximately two hours, ending at Castle Green in Old Pasadena.

The route explores “restless spirits in forgotten tunnels” and “unsolved mysteries and scandalous events” through Playhouse Village, the Civic Center, and Old Pasadena, revealing what organizers call “eerie alleys, hidden courtyards, and historic sites like mortuaries and theatres.”

Customer reviews praise the experience. “Robert, our tour guide, was incredibly insightful and engaging and we both learned a ton about the history of Pasadena, both ghostly and otherwise! Definitely recommend!” wrote Matt L. in a July 4 TripAdvisor review.

Another reviewer, Alihan B., noted: “Angie was amazing on the tour. She made it a fun experience learning not only hearing the fun spooky stories but also learning about the history of the buildings we came across.”

The tour competes with multiple operators including US Ghost Adventures’ “Purgatory Phantoms” tour, which maintains a 5.0-star rating with 16 reviews and 100% recommendation rate on TripAdvisor.

Adult tickets cost $28, children ages five to 12 pay $18, and those under five are free.

Solo adventurers are welcomed, though tours require a minimum of two participants.

The experience does not visit building interiors.
