Adults looking for a low-key break can drop into Peaceful Puzzling, a late-morning jigsaw session designed for quiet focus and easy conversation.
The program offers puzzles for both beginners and seasoned puzzlers to find a comfortable challenge while they settle in with coffee or tea.
Participants may work together at shared tables or claim a spot to puzzle on their own, with no pressure to compete or finish quickly.
The gathering is intended for adults only, giving grown-ups dedicated time and space away from the usual distractions.
Tables are stocked with a variety of puzzles, encouraging people to experiment with different images and difficulty levels during the 2½-hour window.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, according to event organizers, whose support helps provide both the puzzles and the refreshments that anchor the relaxed atmosphere.
Peaceful Puzzling follows a fourth-Thursday rhythm for most of the year, though there are no sessions on Nov. 27 and Dec. 25, when the schedule pauses for the holidays.
The recurring time slot makes it easy for regulars to remember when to return and gives newcomers a predictable way to test the waters.
Peaceful Puzzling will run on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Barth Community Room, 1890 Huntington Dr, San Marino. For more information, call (626) 300-0700 or visit https://sanmarinoca.gov/calendar.php?view=day&month=02&day=26&year=2026&calendar=&id=904.
