Here are the Pets of the Week available for adoption at the Pasadena Humane Society this week:
Zelma (A526836) is a spirited three-year-old German Shepherd at Pasadena Humane with energy to spare and so much love to give! She’s an active, outdoorsy girl who enjoys long walks, chasing after toys, and keeping an eye out for squirrels. She’s curious and playful, enjoys splashing around in water, and is always ready for her next adventure. After she’s had a chance to burn off some energy, Zelma is happy to settle in close and lean into her people for pets and scritches.
Zelma is looking for a patient, understanding home that will help her continue to build confidence. She would do best in an adults-only, low-traffic home in a quieter neighborhood, ideally with easy access to an outdoor space where she can stretch her legs. Zelma would likely thrive as the only pet in the home. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of reassurance, this bright and affectionate girl is sure to form an unbreakable bond with her new family.
The adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.

Hitch (A526689) is a two-year-old gray pittie at Pasadena Humane with a charming, truly one-of-a-kind personality. He particularly enjoys heading out to explore, taking his time to sniff and investigate everything along the way. He already knows cues like “sit” and “down,” and he enjoys enrichment activities that keep his mind busy. While he’s not overly focused on toys, he finds plenty of joy in the little things, like the satisfying crunch of a leaf on a stroll!
Hitch is a thoughtful, quirky companion who marches to the beat of his own drum. He settles nicely after outings and has shown himself to be an easygoing, good-natured boy. He’s currently available for a 10-day adoption trial, giving potential adopters the chance to see just how special life with Hitch can be.
