For the record, every day is Something Day. From Moms to Dads and pickles to pizza, there is a day for it. Let’s take this Friday, January 22, shall we? It’s National Pie Day, and we are not talking about some clever math formula.

Its pies, yeah, pies, and a number of local eateries are joining the celebration. From mud pies to banana cream, all are available for takeaway or delivery and even some with nationwide shipping.

Here are three locations joining in the pie fight:

Urban Plates is featuring their Banana Cream Pie. Urban Plates’ classic Banana Cream Pie has a graham cracker crust filled with vanilla bean pastry cream, bananas, caramel sauce, vanilla bean whipped cream, and chocolate shavings. The pie is made in-house from scratch daily and is available at all Urban Plates.

Urban Plates Pasadena is at 269 South Lake Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101. www.urbanplates.com.

El Torito for their part, is highlighting their Cinnamon-Crisp Cheesecake, an El Torito signature dish, and a twist on a favorite dessert. It’s a creamy cheesecake with caramel sauce and cinnamon-sugar crisps.

El Torito is at 3333 East Foothill Blvd., in East Pasadena.
