Pasadena Unified School District families have seven Back-to-School Night dates still ahead of them, running from Sept. 3 through Oct. 8 at campuses across Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre.
The district’s official 2026-27 school year calendar does not print those dates. It directs families to “See Back to School Schedule” across two windows, Aug. 20-31 and Sept. 1-30. The roster itself holds events on two August dates, six in September, and one on Oct. 8 – a date outside either window.
Twenty-seven listings make up the schedule, running Aug. 20 through Oct. 8. Webster and Sierra Madre Middle School held theirs Aug. 20. A larger group followed on Aug. 26: Altadena, Don Benito, Field, Jackson, Longfellow, Norma Coombs, Sierra Madre Elementary, Washington STEM and PALS from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with John Muir High School from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The remaining dates are Sept. 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 and 23, and Oct. 8, all of them Wednesdays and Thursdays. Most campuses run 5:30 to 7 p.m. John Muir High School runs 5 to 7:30 p.m., and Pasadena High School and Marshall run 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Which campus falls on which of those dates is not published in a single district list. Families attend their own child’s school, and the district asks them to check that school’s date and plan to attend. The district’s Office of Enrollment can be reached at (626) 396-3639.
Each Back-to-School Night date is designated a districtwide minimum day, so students are dismissed early.
“PUSD schools are also hosting welcome events to help families and students connect, meet staff, and kick off the year together,” Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco wrote in the district’s 2026-27 Welcome Kit email to families. The district says the evenings give families a chance to get to know their school community, hear about classroom expectations and learning goals, and find ways to stay connected through the year.
The printed window is wider than the schedule it points to. Eight weekdays fall between Aug. 20 and Aug. 31, and two of them carried a Back-to-School Night. The prior year’s calendar printed a narrower span, Aug. 21 through Aug. 29. The calendar uses the same construction for spring Open House, printing windows in March, April and May.
The school year began Aug. 17. The next Back-to-School Night is Sept. 3.
