Rain is expected to dampen Pasadena on Saturday with precipitation developing by late morning and continuing through the afternoon, prompting one major venue to cancel its planned celebration while most other outdoor events in the area will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
One Colorado, a shopping and dining destination in the heart of Old Pasadena, announced the cancellation of its “BEE Kind to Our Planet” event that was scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“This event will be rescheduled for a new date in June; the new date and time will be shared with the media shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing the community at the rescheduled event in June,” One Colorado stated in its announcement.
Weather forecasts predict an 80% chance of precipitation after 11:00 a.m., with temperatures struggling to reach 58°F. Rainfall amounts could range from one-quarter to half an inch on Saturday, tapering to less than a tenth of an inch by evening, with winds gusting up to 15 mph.
Despite these conditions, the Jackalope Art Fair at Central Park and The Eclectic Music Festival & Arts Crawl in South Pasadena have explicitly stated they will continue “rain or shine.” The Jackalope Art Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while The Eclectic Music Festival spans all day across South Pasadena.
Local farmers’ markets are maintaining their regular schedules. The Pasadena Farmers’ Market at Victory Park (8 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and the La Cañada Farmers’ Market at 1346 Foothill Blvd. (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) historically operate rain or shine.
The Ashes to Anthems: The Dena Benefit Concert at Memorial Park Pasadena, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., has not issued any cancellation notice.
Indoor events remain unaffected by the weather forecast. Among them today: The Cancer Support Community SGV Angel Gala at the Langham Hotel at 6 p.m. and Mingle and Plei at Der Wolf at 7 p.m. will proceed as planned.
Meteorologists advise visitors to plan around Saturday’s wet weather, though no severe weather advisories or warnings have been issued. Sunday’s forecast shows improvement with mostly sunny conditions and a high near 63°F, with south southeast winds of 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
