Registration is now open for the 2021 Rose Bowl Half Marathon and 5K, which were supposed to be held last January but were postponed due to coronavirus restrictions.
And if you feel like you’re not ready to go out yet and mingle with other runners, both races offer a virtual option, which are now ongoing.
The Rose Bowl Half Marathon happens on Sept. 26, and the Rose Bowl 5K will be on July 2 and 3.
“The Rose Bowl Half Marathon is a truly unforgettable race experience with a one of a kind finish line on the field at the world-famous Rose Bowl,” stated an announcement by the organizer, The McCourt Foundation (TMF).
“Come enjoy the picturesque course through beautiful Pasadena, passing landmarks like the Colorado Street Bridge, Old Town Pasadena and Caltech University before a majestic finish,” the statement reads.
All participants in the half marathon must be at least 12 on the event date. Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to pick up the participant’s race bib and sign the event waiver.
The Rose Bowl 5K will start and finish in front of the Rose Bowl, tracking the well-known loop that runs around the stadium and Brookside Golf Course.
Registration for the Rose Bowl 5K is $45 and includes a Rose Bowl 5K Bib, a Finisher Medal and an ASICS Finisher shirt.
There’s also an option to run for Team TMF and make a difference. Your registration will support TMF’s mission of building a healthier world, including supporting neurological research at TMF partner hospitals.
Registering for Team TMF costs $100 and includes a Finisher Medal, an ASICS Finisher shirt, and a red, white and blue Team TMF trucker hat, plus a festive lei. This registration fee is tax deductible.
For the Half Marathon on Sept, 26, registration fee is $100 and includes a Rose Bowl Half Marathon Bib, a Finisher Medal, an ASICS Finisher Shirt, and a Finish Festival entry and drink ticket for participants 21 and over.
To run with Team TMF for the Half Marathon, you commit to fundraise $500 and your entry is free. You also get a Team TMF Shirt, access to the Rose Bowl locker room, VIP hospitality, and all the other race perks – a ASICS Finisher shirt, a bib, a medal, plus an extra drink ticket.
