Roger Castle of The L.A. Regional Foodbank to Speak at Rotary Club’s Weekly Virtual Meeting

Roger Castle, chief development officer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, will be the guest speaker at the Pasadena Rotary Club’s weekly virtual meeting, starting at noon Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Castle will be speaking about the food bank’s emergency response to the economic impact of the pandemic, which has dramatically increased the number of people needing food assistance.

Castle is a member of the senior management team for the LA Food Bank, overseeing all staff members involved in the areas of development, marketing, and communications. He has nearly 20 years of experience as a professional fundraiser in the nonprofit sector.

As chief development officer, Castle is responsible for strategic development and implementation, as well as oversight of all fundraising activities to support the organization.

Before joining the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Castle served as the vice president of development at the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the largest philanthropic organization funding prostate cancer research globally. He led all donor stewardship and fundraising activities at the nonprofit, including the successful Home Run Challenge with partner Major League Baseball.

Previously, Castle worked at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, St. John’s Health Center Foundation, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Martin, with a bachelor’s degree in education, and was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team. He earned a master’s degree thereafter from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Castle lives in Venice and enjoys sports, live music, and his two dogs.
