Ronald McDonald House Pasadena is set to mark two decades of service with a glamorous fundraising gala on Oct. 12, 2024. The event, titled “SHINE: The Great Gala, Celebrating Our Roaring 20th Anniversary,” will take place at a private golf club in Pasadena.

The organization, which provides a home-away-from-home for families seeking medical care for their children, aims to recognize its legacy of support. Community leader Marchelle Sellers and LA Financial Credit Union will be honored for their contributions to the cause.

Sellers, along with a community of parents, was inspired by personal experiences to open the Ronald McDonald House in Pasadena 20 years ago. LA Financial Credit Union has been a legacy partner, providing financial support, leadership and volunteer power over the decades.

Mara Leong-Maguinez, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Pasadena, emphasized the organization’s impact.

“Ronald McDonald House Pasadena is a place built of love,” she said, noting that thousands of families have found comfort there since 2004.

The gala, co-chaired by Yvonne Ballesteros and Stefanie Aguilar Iacobucci, will raise funds to support the organization’s mission. Sponsors include Reliance, Inc., LA Financial Credit Union, 88 International, Bank of America, Charity on Top, The Felton Family, Riboli Family Wine Estates and Sharp Seating Company.

Ronald McDonald House Pasadena occupies three historic homes near Huntington Health and Shriners Children’s. It offers 17 guest bedrooms, a fully stocked pantry and therapeutic family support services to families in need.

The organization’s goal is to remove barriers for families focusing on their child’s health. It provides accommodations, meals and support to ensure families can stay close to their children during medical treatments.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the gala are available on the organization’s website. Space is limited at the exclusive venue, so early reservations are encouraged. The event is expected to draw community leaders, advocates and supporters to celebrate the past and look toward the future.
