The stadium and the parkland around it belong to the City of Pasadena. The Rose Bowl Operating Company forecast flea market net income of $1.8 million for Fiscal Year 2026 against a $1.7 million budget in its draft Fiscal Year 2027 budget presentation. For Altadena, unincorporated and immediately north, the connection runs through the fire. Vendors also sell local art and specialty products, according to Visit Pasadena. Concessions run $5.50 to $9.00. Pets are barred except certified service animals. Weiden has described the campus as something closer to a commons than a venue. “It has that European feel of a town square,” he told Forbes in an interview published July 25, 2026. Nearly three million people visit the roughly 300-acre property each year, according to Forbes.
The market dates to 1968, when Bill Thunell and R.G. Canning settled on the Rose Bowl after the stadium went looking for year-round income, according to an undated news release from the company. Mike Redd, whom the company identifies as a vice president, called the anniversary “a testament to the level of passion” behind every event.

By evening the tables fold and the lots drain and the Arroyo goes back to its joggers and its golfers. Then, in a month, the trucks come again in the dark.
