Rose Bowl Stadium opens its gates to the public for guided tours of its historic interior on the last Friday of each month, with the next sessions set for Friday, Aug. 28, at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The walk-throughs lead visitors behind the scenes at the Pasadena landmark, a National Historic Landmark owned by the City of Pasadena, into areas most people see only from the grandstands or on a broadcast.

Guides take guests through the original 1922 locker room, the current locker rooms, the press box and the Court of Champions, among other spaces. Visitors are asked to allow up to two hours, and portions of the tour are outdoors. Proper attire, including shirts and shoes, is required, and tour stops can change because of stadium events or operations.

Since the stadium opened in October 1922, it has hosted moments from the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame, who played there in 1925, to Brandi Chastain’s title-winning penalty kick in the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup final.
