Saturday is the final chance for visitors to see — and smell — the Rose Parade’s intricately crafted, fragrant floats up close as Floatfest opens for its last day, even with another round of rain forecast through the weekend.

Floatfest runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last tickets sold at 2:30 p.m. and final entry at 3 p.m.

Spectators walk within feet of the elaborately decorated floats along Sierra Madre and Washington boulevards to examine floral detail, craftsmanship and mechanical artistry and experience in ways not possible during the Rose Parade itself.

This year’s Floatfest follows the 137th Rose Parade, which was hit by the first parade-day rain in 20 years.

For some visitors, the showcase is part of long-standing family traditions, with multiple generations decorating and then returning to admire the finished floats together.

This year, decorating and viewing have also taken on added meaning for residents affected by wildfires, as floats honoring recovery efforts and community resilience become focal points for remembrance and connection.

The family-friendly event includes live entertainment, a large video wall, food trucks, and a beer and wine garden with a full-service bar. A dedicated Food Fare area at Gate A offers additional menu options from local trucks. Along the route, vendors and sponsor booths offer activities and giveaways, and families with children can take part in kid-focused activities such as scavenger hunts.

Visitors should expect a full walking route of about 2 miles, with a moderate incline that can make stroller use difficult. Viewing all floats typically requires at least two hours at a leisurely pace.

Many attendees stop frequently to take photos and selfies with the floats or point out specific elements they helped decorate, reflecting the hands-on volunteer work that goes into each entry.

Some float builders and designers are available to answer questions and provide insight into the design and construction process.

Security measures include a clear-bag policy.

Parking near the venue is extremely limited. Shuttle service is available from Pasadena City College at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. and 3035 E. Foothill Blvd., and shuttle trips can take longer than usual due to street closures, traffic, bag checks and security screenings. Street closures and crowds often lead to wait times both for boarding shuttles and entering the Floatfest venue.

General admission is $26.50, with children 5 and under admitted free. Tickets are sold online through the Sharp Seating Company at https://tickets.sharpseating.com/
