The San Gabriel Valley Women’s Summit, an annual event presented by the Duarte Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate women’s achievements and potential on Friday, May 10, in Monrovia. The summit aims to inspire attendees to live their best lives by learning, connecting, and prioritizing themselves.

“We’re excited to bring together professionals at all stages of their career for this afternoon of inspiration, empowerment and motivation,” said Bernadette Chang, event co-chair and senior sales counselor at Westminster Gardens and Royal Oaks senior living communities. “This annual gathering not only celebrates the achievements and potential of women but also fosters a supportive community dedicated to lifting each other up.”

The theme of the 2024 San Gabriel Valley Women’s Summit is redefining the Renaissance Woman, focusing on those who embody the ideals of pursuing knowledge, seeking social consciousness, and finding balance within their endeavors. “A Renaissance woman weaves together her multitudes to create a brilliant tapestry of her strength, resiliency, and hopefully at the end of 2024 Summit, expanded supportive connections of fellow Renaissance Women,” continued Chang.

The summit is being held in honor of Tzeitel Paras-Caracci, a beloved Duarte Councilmember who passed away in 2022 after battling lung cancer. Paras-Caracci conceived the idea for the summit to empower women to achieve success in their varied roles.

The event will feature a stellar lineup of seven speakers, including:

  • Whitney Rice, actor, comedian, and star of the hit show “Jury Duty,” as the keynote speaker
  • Jennifer Dickinson, author and writing coach, presenting “Telling Your Personal Story in Writing”
  • Teri Bond, communications strategist, presenting “Bring Your Personal Brand to Life”
  • Bonita Bennett, community organizer and women empowerment expert, presenting “Enjoy the Journey Gracefully Handling Life Transitions”
