A potential breakthrough in fighting climate change will be unveiled Tuesday evening at Caltech’s Kerckhoff Marine Laboratory, where researchers promise to reveal “a magic bullet for reducing atmospheric CO₂.”

Madison Dunitz will present her findings August 26 as part of Science Tuesdays, a free weekly summer series bringing cutting-edge marine research to the public.

The 4:30 p.m. presentation could offer new hope in humanity’s race against rising global temperatures.

The weekly program runs every Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., opening its doors to curious minds of all ages without charge.

“Each week from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. will feature a different speaker showcasing new marine-based topics and followed by a fun activity,” according to the Caltech Events Office.

Located at 101 Dahlia Ave in Corona del Mar, the marine laboratory offers a unique setting where the Pacific Ocean serves as both backdrop and laboratory for groundbreaking research.

While the facility provides no direct parking, free public parking is available along Ocean Boulevard.

The Science Tuesdays series transforms complex scientific research into accessible presentations, allowing the community to witness firsthand discoveries emerging from one of the nation’s premier research institutions.

“Science Tuesdays” will run on Tuesday, August 26 at 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Kerckhoff Marine Laboratory, 101 Dahlia Ave, Corona del Mar. For more call (949) 675-2159 or visit https://local.caltech.edu/events/calendar-support/science-tuesdays-at-kml-10. Tickets: Free admission.
