The South Pasadena Senior Center invites residents to join its free walking group on December 23, a twice-weekly program connecting older adults through outdoor activity. The group meets regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The December 23 gathering offers what the program describes as “a wonderful opportunity to exercise outdoors and meet new friends.” Participants will “join the group as they walk around the park and our community,” following paths within War Memorial Park and surrounding South Pasadena neighborhoods known for their flat, walkable streets and historic homes.

The South Pasadena Community Services Department sponsors the program as part of its mission to provide recreational, educational, wellness and social services to residents aged 55 and older. The Senior Center functions as “a community focal point” offering the walking group alongside watercolor painting and organized trips.

One detail matters before attending: “Start time will fluctuate depending on the season/weather.” While the group is listed at 8 a.m., winter conditions often bring schedule adjustments. Those planning to attend should call ahead to confirm the exact start time for December 23, as cooler months typically shift these times.

The walking group costs nothing to join.

Walking Group will run on Tuesday, December 23 at 8:00 a.m. South Pasadena Senior Center, 1102 Oxley St., South Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 403-7360 or visit https://www.southpasadenaca.gov/Events-Directory/Walking-Group
