Jodi Siegel has spent decades carving out a place in the Los Angeles roots music scene as a singer, songwriter, and master slide guitarist whose performances mix blues, R&B, soul, and jazz with what fans call “groove-rich” intuition. On Saturday evening, she brings that hybrid sensibility to the Sierra Madre Playhouse stage for an 8 p.m. concert.

The Sierra Madre Playhouse, a vintage theater on West Sierra Madre Boulevard, has built a reputation as one of the San Gabriel Valley’s most distinctive small venues, hosting a mix of live music, theater, and family programming. Its intimate scale — fewer than 100 seats — turns concerts into close-up listening experiences, which suits a guitarist whose tone and phrasing reward attention.

Siegel’s career has included sideman appearances with major acts and a steady solo and small-band schedule across the West Coast. Her slide guitar work has been called soulful, masterful, and deeply rooted in
the lineage of American blues guitar, and her vocals carry the kind of lived-in warmth that only emerges from years on the road.

Jodi Siegel in concert will run on Saturday, May 16 at 8 p.m. Sierra Madre Playhouse, 87 W. Sierra Madre Boulevard, Sierra Madre. For more information and to purchase tickets, call (626) 355-4318 or visit sierramadreplayhouse.org.
