Singer to Speak About Power of Music to Heal Minds

Published on Sep 19, 2022

German-Indian American mezzo-soprano Nandani Maria Sinha, who has been volunteering and singing at Alzheimer’s ward across Southern California, will be at the Rotary Club of Pasadena’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The meeting is open to the public to attend.

She is internationally acclaimed for her passionate performances and presence. A favorite mezzo-soprano in Southern California, she performs regularly with Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, California Philharmonic, and Redlands Symphony. She has sung under the baton of Maestro James Conlon and for Sunday Service with Kanye West.

Sinha is frequently called on by the Los Angeles Opera as both a singer and a teaching artist, collaborating on community projects with Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles, Rancho Los Amigos, Urban Voices, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital and City of Hope, and for in-school education programming.

Driven by a deep personal connection to memory care and dementia support – her father had Alzheimer’s – Sinha founded Music Heals Minds, an organization that provides singers to memory care units in Los Angeles. Learn more about the organization at www.mezzonani.com or www.mhmla.org.

She will be speaking on “Living with Alzheimers” at the Rotary Club meeting.

Reception and lunch at the University Club of Pasadena is by RSVP only. To RSVP, call (626) 683-8243 or email  office@pasadenarotary.com.
