The South Pasadena Educational Foundation (SPEF) and the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce once again bring you “Food for Thought: One Day, One Cause, One Community,” an event where local restaurants open for a community dine-around and donate 10 percent of all sales all day to the SPEF.
Food for Thought is all day Wednesday, Sept. 28. All proceeds go toward supporting all five schools in the South Pasadena Unified School District. The event provides residents an opportunity to get together with friends, family, and co-workers throughout the day for a common cause: supporting local schools and local restaurants.
In 1979, a group of concerned parents and community leaders formed the SPEF in response to educational budget conditions. The group was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charity in 1980; that same year, SPEF was designated by the South Pasadena Unified School District as the official private fund-raising organization for the support of the district’s educational programs.
On Wednesday, when you go out there and dine throughout South Pasadena, make sure to take a photo of you, your friends, and family, and don’t forget to tag SPEF4kids in the photo.
Food for Thought may be the excuse you needed to stay out of the kitchen – all day long!
If you are a local restaurant wishing to participate, contact the SPEF office for more information at (626) 441-5810 ext. 1163, or email Stacey Petersen at spetersen@spef4kids.org.
