The South Pasadena Public Library will sponsor and host an American Red Cross blood drive Friday, continuing a partnership that has brought regular blood collection events to the city throughout 2024 and 2025.
The January 30 drive runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the library’s community room at 1115 El Centro in Los Angeles County.
“Blood donations are essential for patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergency care,” according to SouthPasadenan.com.
“A single donation can help save multiple lives.”
The free event is open to community members willing to donate.
“Donors can schedule their life-saving appointments by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering the sponsor code: SOPASLIB,” according to ColoradoBoulevard.net coverage of the November 21 drive.
“To make the process even smoother, participants are encouraged to visit RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass on the day of the drive,” ColoradoBoulevard.net reported.
“There, they can complete their pre-donation reading and health history questions in advance, potentially saving up to 15 minutes during their visit.”
The library has hosted previous Red Cross drives on August 30, July 25, and November 21, all using the same scheduling system.
“The South Pasadena Library continues to serve as a hub for civic engagement and community wellness, and this blood drive is another example of its commitment to public service,” ColoradoBoulevard.net noted.
The drive is part of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region’s January 2026 appeal.
