South Pasadena Tournament of Roses to Host Mixer at Float Construction Site

Published on Dec 9, 2021

The South Pasadena Tournament of Roses is hosting a morning “mixer” on Friday, December 10, at the float site, where volunteers are working to build South Pasadena’s entry to the Rose Parade in Pasadena on New Year’s Day.

The site is at 435 Fair Oaks Ave. in South Pasadena.

When you come, you’ll get a sneak peek of what’s going on at the float – the oldest self-built float at the Rose Parade – and hear what’s new about the effort to create positive exposure for the city of South Pasadena and show how volunteerism elevates the community.

South Pasadena has been constructing and decorating its own floats for the Rose Parade since 1893. Its float for 2022 is called “Sky’s the Limit,” in keeping with the Rose Parade’s theme “Dream. Believe. Achieve.”

The South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce is cooperating with the SPTOR in this event at the War Memorial Building where the float is being built.

This is a free event with coffee and refreshments starting at 8 a.m.
